Alice Oseman’s Gaza Fundraiser: Signed Books and Doodles Offered

AUTHOR of the hit Heartstopper young adult fiction series turned popular TV programme, Alice Oseman, is auctioning off signed doodles and books, and offering up the prize of a one-of-a-kind drawing, to raise money to support children in Gaza.

‘Not Alone: The Alice Oseman fundraiser for Children in Gaza’, is raising money for Save the Children’s  Gaza Emergency Appeal, which supports children and families in Gaza who are facing unimaginable loss. The fundraiser went live recently and raised an incredible £10,000 within the first 24 hours, with some items already sold out.

Alice, who started Heartstopper as a web comic before it was turned into a graphic novel series, is known for their illustrations which bring the romance between teens Charlie and Nick to life in the books. The web comic has a huge online fan base of 124 million views to date, and the TV adaptation has been nominated for and won numerous awards.

Among the items on offer for the auction are signed special edition Heartstopper books from volumes 1-5, personalised with Alice’s iconic doodles. And for those who would love to have their own personal drawing, there’s a prize draw to win an original digital sketch hand-drawn by Alice.

Alice said:

“I am so pleased to present a fundraiser for Save the Children’s Gaza Emergency Appeal, which is providing urgent aid to children and families suffering due to the ongoing situation in Gaza. Signed books, rare merchandise, and a chance to win an original drawing by me will be available until May 17th.”

Lisa Aubrey, Director of Regional Fundraising, at Save the Children UK, said:

“We are incredibly grateful to Alice for setting up this one-of-a-kind fundraiser, which is already proving incredibly popular.

“Civilians in Gaza are being left without protection and are paying the heaviest price for the ongoing violence. Save the Children is calling for an immediate, definitive ceasefire to save and protect the lives of children in Gaza.

“This money raised will go towards our Gaza Emergency Appeal to support our teams who are on the ground working with children and families whose lives have been devastated by the conflict in Gaza.”

Fans have until Friday 17th May to help raise funds by entering the auction and prize draw, or simply donating at: uk.givergy.com/aliceoseman/.
