An autumn adventure for Steel-y nerves

An autumn adventure for Steel-y nerves

DON’T let the autumn chill stop you from getting out there to do something for your community this October.

Why not brave your own spine-chilling experience by embracing the fall and donning your craziest costume, to bring hope and support to people facing loneliness, disasters and personal crises.

The British Red Cross staff and volunteers are out there every day providing essential resources and advice in Sheffield and beyond – all made possible by the bold, big-hearted people of Yorkshire. And we’re looking for people like you to step backwards and harness up for our Steel City Abseil on Saturday 27th October, as we come together to show the Power of Kindness.

No need to have done anything like this before or to be an expert fundraiser – just the courage and creativity to wow the crowds with your descent – hopefully wearing something spectacular! This is a must-see event for all the family!

Community Fundraising volunteer José, who has come all the way from Portugal to help make this a success, says “I’m super excited to welcome and cheer on our abseilers, some of whom are travelling a long way, for this famous annual event down the Owen Building. “What if” it was the best one yet?”

Sign up for the abseil at www.redcross.org.uk/steel

Entry fee is just £10 and includes a personal fundraising pack, support and training on the day. Contact Lucy Gray for more information on 0114 242 7381 lucygray@redcross.org.uk
