Arrive Alive sets wheels in motion to save lives in Coventry

ARRIVE Alive is Britain’s only registered charity of its kind founded by a West Midlands-based mother Debbie Roscoe. Arrive Alive continues its quest to help West Midlands Ambulance Service community first responders by raising funds and purchasing emergency response vehicles and lifesaving ambulance equipment.

Following relentless fundraising an Arrive Alive vehicle has now become operational within Coventry, the voluntary operated 999 vehicle will be operated by Godiva Voluntary Medical Responders. The vehicle will be used by medically trained volunteers to attend life-threatening medical emergencies of all ages within Coventry.

Founder of Arrive Alive, Debbie Roscoe said:

“It is, once again, our pleasure to be able to support a local first responder group. The work these amazing volunteers do is inspiring – giving up their evenings and weekends to help to save lives in their local communities. This vehicle is our eleventh lifesaving voluntary operated 999 vehicle to operate within the West Midlands, with many more still left to be funded.”

Community First Responders are also known as CFRs. CFRs who operate the vehicles are all equipped with a West Midlands Ambulance Service radio system to receive vital details from the 999 dispatch centre of the medical emergency within their local community. CFRs are volunteers who give up their time to receive training and deliver lifesaving CPR training to their communities in addition to attending 999 calls, they really are superheroes.

Trustee of Godiva Voluntary Medical Responders, Carl Rose, said:

“As a voluntary operated group to be gifted a new liveried response vehicle is wonderful. Godiva Voluntary Medical Responders is made up of medically trained volunteers who have been trained by the ambulance service to attend calls within our local community. Without charities like Arrive Alive existing it would have been mission impossible to fund a new vehicle. Thank you to Debbie and the team for their incredible support.”
