Big Give launches Kind²Mind campaign to amplify support for mental health charities
BIG Give, the UK’s most successful match funding platform, has announced the launch of its Kind²Mind campaign, marking its third consecutive year.
This campaign aims to increase crucial support for mental health charities, coinciding with the UK’s Mental Health Awareness Week and running from the 14th to the 28th of May.
Mental health challenges affect an ever-growing proportion of the population, with a 70% increase in people suffering from mental health challenges since 2020. Many of these individuals silently struggle with unseen or unspoken mental health challenges, and Kind²Mind is designed to support charities offering valuable services to address, prevent, research, and treat mental health. By bringing together a community of generosity, Big Give seeks to amplify the impact of every donation, effectively doubling the difference made to mental health charities.
In 2023, the Kind²Mind campaign raised an impressive £1.5 million (including Gift Aid), with £876,000 contributed in match funds. This support empowered 182 high-impact charities, thanks to the generosity of 5,145 donors.
This year, the 150+ participating charities face unprecedented challenges due to the heightened demand for their services. The funds raised through the Kind²Mind campaign will provide critical support, doubling the public’s donations and impact through match funding from philanthropists, foundations, and companies.

James Reed CBE, Chair of Trustees for Big Give, said:
“One in four adults and one in 10 children experience mental illness, and this number is growing every year. This campaign shines a spotlight on a crucially important issue that is not going away. The charities that are involved in dealing with the multiple mental health challenges present in daily life really stand to benefit from people’s generosity and that of our wonderful champion donors for match funding.”
Ruby Wax, ambassador for Big Give and founder of the charity Frazzled Cafe, said:
“The crisis in mental health and the crippling pressure on NHS services is impacting every level of society, so this campaign could not be more timely. The world has never been so frazzled and fraught, and across the country, people are struggling to find the support they need.
“The work of charities such as Frazzled Cafe, which gives people a completely free and safe space to speak openly about their feelings every day of the year, has never been more important. I hope people will consider donating whatever they can to the charity of their choice and see the money doubled by Big Give, so we can help more people who are feeling the strain before they reach crisis point, and relieve our overstretched NHS.
“Last year, we raised £1.5 million in just seven days and this time we are hoping to do even more. Please support the Kind²Mind campaign if you can.”
Briony May Williams, Bristol Mind ambassador, said:
“I’m incredibly proud to be an ambassador for Bristol Mind because they provide a safe space to people in and around Bristol who are struggling with their mental health and need support. The Kind²Mind campaign is the perfect opportunity to spread the word about what Bristol Mind has to offer and at the same time raise lots of much-needed funds with Big Give matching all donations over the next 2 weeks.”
