Care home hosting its inaugural Community Craft Fayre

CHARITY, Friends of the Elderly’s Malvern-based Davenham, Perrins House and Bradbury Court, the residential, nursing and dementia care homes which are collectively known as Friends of the Elderly Malvern, is hosting its first community Craft Fayre on Saturday 11th May.

The community Craft Fayre is fast approaching and will be open from 10 am until 2 pm and is free to attend. Taking place in the historic Davenham main building, visitors will be able to take their time and stroll around a wide range of stalls selling a variety of crafted gifts and exclusive, handmade items.

Jo Bennett, the General Manager at the care homes said:

“The community response to take stalls at the Craft Fayre has been amazing. We have a great range of stalls taking part including a Bottle Stall, Bric-A-Brac Stalls, stalls selling handmade and unique jewellery, gifts, cards and make-up. Refreshments will also be available and there will be a delicious cakes and pastries stall and a Retro Sweet Cart.”

Tina Ellenton, the Activities Coordinator at Davenham Residential Care Home said:

“A Face Painter will also be at the Fayre, for children – and adults alike – to have their faces adorned with beautiful and creative designs, and a raft of competitions to take part in. We have a Tombola with terrific prizes and some fun competitions too. There will be a few Raffles, Guest the Weight of the Cake, Name a Bear and Guest How Many Sweets Are In The Jar as well – so lots of fun things for everyone to enjoy.”

Jo concluded:

“Our residents, their families, our community friends and our care team, are all looking forward to our community Craft Fayre. We’ve got so much taking place. It’s going to be wonderful to get the community together for an inclusive, accessible spring event. It’s shaping up to be a real treat for everyone.

“We hope everyone will have a great time on 11th May and I’m looking forward to welcoming new visitors, seeing friends and meeting more of our supportive community at what is promising to be an event, not to be missed.”
