Charity appealing for your help to find former Hospice nursing staff

A Birmingham hospice has turned to Charity Today readers to ask for your help to identify former staff after an image was uncovered in their photography archives.

In the photo, the group of 17 women can be seen gathered together on the front porch of John Taylor Hospice’s current premises in Grange Road, Erdington – but it is not known what year the photograph was taken or the names of those pictured.

John Taylor Hospice is now sharing the image with the public in the hope that someone recognises a familiar face in its midst and can help to reveal the stories behind the snapshot.  

The photograph and any information gleaned from it will form part of a special living history section of the hospice’s website. Launched earlier this year, the archive features memories of former staff and people who have received care and support from the hospice.

The charity’s Head of Brand and Media Diane Parkes told Charity Today:

“We are very proud of our 100-year history of care and support for families in the Birmingham area and keeping those memories alive is very important to us.

“Our online history section is a space to connect the hundreds of staff we’ve employed over the years and the thousands of people they have provided care and support for. The web pages feature special moments that staff and patients have shared over the years and we’d love to grow this bank of memories.

“Whether you recognise yourself in the photo, spot a friend or family member, or your loved one received care from the nurses pictured – we’d love for you to get in touch and share your memories with us so we can put some names to the faces of these wonderful women.”
