Charity launches new season of famous “Great Days Out” for children

VARIETY, the Children’s Charity, has launched its winter programme of special day trips for disabled and disadvantaged children across the UK.

The day trips, otherwise known as “Variety Great Days Out”, are designed to support children from special needs schools by offering exciting and educational outings free of charge. This year’s programme includes trips to Tower Bridge, Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust, the Houses of Parliament and spectacular Christmas pantomimes across the UK.

Variety is encouraging schools and not for profit organisations across the UK that care for disabled and disadvantaged children to sign up to the Great Days Out programme so that they can benefit from the fantastic scheme.

Variety Great Days Out is one of the charity’s flagship programmes and celebrated its 50^th anniversary in 2016. Over the last 50 years, the Great Days Out have taken over 2 million children on trips across the country.

Dave King, Head of Programmes for Variety, the Children’s Charity said: 

“This year our winter programme of Great Days Out will bring some sparkle to over 2,500 children due to the generosity of supporters.

“We know that even a simple cinema trip can mean the world to some the children we support and we are delighted to be working with schools and not for profits across the UK to improve the lives of children.”
