Counter terror charity expands team to drive growth

citizenAID®, a counter terrorism charity registered in England and Wales, has appointed new operations manager, Mike Robinson, and new fundraising lead, Rachel Read, to enable the expansion of its ‘Be Prepared, Not Scared’ initiative.

With vast experienced in business development and the public and charity sectors, Mike Robinson is set to become a valuable asset to the citizenAID team; wherein joining the charity he will be responsible for all operations and logistics, whilst supporting continued growth. 

Mr Robinson shared: “I’m looking forward to working with citizenAID and sharing my experience to enable its continued growth. I have a lot of respect for the work they’ve carried out so far and look forward to supporting them in their mission to reach as many members of the public as possible, both in the UK and overseas.”

As Fundraising Lead, Rachel Read will be using her 19 years of professional fundraising experience to drive the charity forward, where her core focus will be on achieving widespread support.

Ms Read’s experience is vast, spanning grassroots, major donor stewardships and large capital appeals. On discussing her appointment, she commented: “I’m excited to share my knowledge and skills with such a worthwhile initiative. I hope that through my appointment I can drive a positive change and encourage further growth for citizenAID on both a short-term and long-term basis.”

citizenAID was founded in 2017 by four deeply experienced UK civilian and military clinicians, working in collaboration to empower the public to help themselves, and others, should they find themselves amidst a pre-meditated attack.

Brigadier Tim Hodgetts, Co-Founder of citizenAID, added: “We are extremely excited about the appointments of both Mike and Rachel and feel they will be valuable additions to the citizenAID team. As an initiative, our core goal is to help the public be prepared in the event of a terrorist incident, whilst equipping them with the knowledge and skills to treat and help save the lives of the injured in the absence of the emergency services.

“Our message needs to be as widespread as possible, and we are in no doubt that both Mike and Rachel will be instrumental in helping us achieve this, whilst supporting the growth of the charity.”
