David Wilson Homes supports Arrive Alive
LEADING housebuilder David Wilson Homes has donated £1,500 to Arrive Alive, the only registered charity of its kind dedicated to supporting Community First Responders, as part of its Community Fund scheme.
Arrive Alive is solely funded by public donations, Arrive Alive is committed to funding life-saving, volunteer-operated 999 vehicles and equipment for Community First Responders (CFRs).
The donation from the leading housebuilder has been dedicated to providing relief for the charity and its urgent need for additional vehicles and equipment to join its existing fleet. At present, Arrive Alive has 13 equipped voluntarily operated 999 vehicles, with funding underway for an additional 999 vehicles.
David Wilson Homes’ donation was made as part of its Community Fund scheme via The Barratt Foundation, which is run by its parent company, Barratt Developments. It is designed to support national and local charities, large and small, across the areas in which the housebuilder operates.
Debbie Roscoe, Founder of Arrive Alive, said:
“Arrive Alive is reliant on donations to enable voluntary operational 999 vehicles to become operational. Donations are incredibly important to charities like us as we simply cannot operate without them.”
An Arrive Alive vehicle can reach a 999 medical emergency in those vital seconds or minutes following a 999 call due to being based directly in the heart of the community.
Debbie continued:
“During the pandemic, all community and fundraising events were immediately cancelled due to the government restrictions. We had to adapt our services and launched several virtual fundraising events which enabled the purchase of an emergency vehicle during the height of the pandemic to assist with saving lives within the community.”
With all CFRs trained to deal with some of the most time-critical medical emergencies and all vehicles on the same radio network as standard road or air ambulances, Arrive Alive vehicles are prepared to respond to medical emergencies following a 999 call.
In order to raise additional funds, Arrive Alive is hosting its first charity ball at The Burlington Hotel in Birmingham. The evening promises fun-filled entertainment and fantastic food, held on the 7th of September 2024, and tickets can be purchased via the Arrive Alive website.
Helen Lewis, Managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Mercia, said:
“We are proud to have been able to support Arrive Alive, which offers essential support and services throughout Birmingham and the wider West Midlands area. “It’s important that we support those in need as it can make a world of difference for the beneficiaries involved. All volunteers at Arrive Alive work incredibly hard and we are delighted to support their efforts.”
