Freemason’s Lodge spreads Christmas cheer with £2,000 toy donation

ALBERT Edward, a Surrey Freemason’s Lodge in Camberley, has just delivered over £2,000 worth of Christmas toys to Frimley Park Hospital’s Paediatric Ward and to ‘Christopher’s’ Shooting Star Children’s Hospice in Guildford.

Christopher’s Shooting Star Hospice provides expert nursing and medical care for children approaching the end of life, many of whom have very complex symptoms and need specialist care. The hospice also provides an extensive range of counselling and emotional support to children’s families including parents, siblings, and grandparents, during treatment and afterwards, with bereavement.

An additional cheque for £500 was also presented to Frimley Park Children’s Unit to help with the purchase of a high-end virtual reality headset, which will be offered to nervous children, to virtually transport them to a more fun and less stressful place, during distressing procedures, such as whilst taking blood samples.

Frimley Park Children’s Unit offers a very wide range of medical facilities and treatments for children of all ages, which include epilepsy, cardiology and even plastic surgery.

It is a privilege for our team to be able to give children unfortunate enough to find themselves in hospital over the Christmas period a gift and your donation is invaluable.”

“We really hope these toys will help to bring a little happiness to children who, unfortunately, need to be at Christopher’s Hospice or Frimley Park Hospital’s Paediatric Ward during the Christmas period.”
