Incredibly rare Xbox console generously donated to charity, and it could be yours
A rare Xbox console was generously donated to the British Heart Foundation (BHF) shop in Oxford and has been listed for sale on the charity’s eBay site.
The Pepsi Hulk Console, of which only 36 were available, was released in 2003 when halter tops were all the rage and Beyonce’s Crazy in Love was number one in the charts.
Avid gamers and collectors are being encouraged to place their bids to be in with a chance of getting this limited-edition collectable item. The console has so rarely been for sale, it is tricky to estimate a value but it could fetch up to £9,000.
The striking green console, which is in working condition, was never available for retail sale and was a competition prize used to promote the 2003 release of ‘Hulk’ in UK theatres.
Paul Smith, a passionate gamer and function tester at the British Heart Foundation’s eBay HQ, discovered the value of the console when he was function-testing it. Paul said:
“We test all the electrical donations we receive, and this one really caught my eye. I’m a games enthusiast myself but the rare green colour combined with the Hulk and Pepsi logo really stood out. Whoever is lucky enough to snap this up will make their friends green with envy.”
Money from the sale of the Xbox console will go towards funding the British Heart Foundation’s life saving research into heart and circulatory diseases.
The console will be listed for 10 days on the BHF’s eBay site with bidding closing on Saturday 15th June at 9pm (UK time). International shipping is available so customers abroad are encouraged to place their bids.
