Kent’s Voluntary Sector Celebrated at ‘Causes That Matter’ Event

A ‘Causes That Matter’ event held recently, hosted by The High Sheriff of Kent, Dr Gill Fargher and Kent Community Foundation, celebrated the strengths of the voluntary sector in Kent and Medway.

At the event at Eastwell Manor near Ashford, guests heard the High Sheriff of Kent praise the work they were doing and thank them for their invaluable support for their local communities. Guests took the opportunity to network with other organisations over tea, coffee, and cake and to speak to members of Kent Community Foundation’s grants team about future funding opportunities.

The annual event was attended by groups representing charities that support children, young people, families, vulnerable adults, the elderly and isolated, those who need help securing employment or gaining skills and groups protecting the environment for future generations.

The High Sheriff of Kent, Dr Gill Fargher said:

“It was a privilege to host this event with Kent Community Foundation to celebrate the brilliant, often unseen, and vital work that Kent’s grassroots organisations are doing in their communities.”
