Lifelong Manchester United fan with support needs scores tickets to first ever game

MANCHESTER United fan Nigel Redmayne had the ‘best day ever’ cheering on his beloved team at his first-ever game, thanks to a generous gift from the club.

Nigel, who is supported by the national social care charity Community Integrated Care, is currently in his forties and has followed the Red Devils his whole life.

The charity began supporting Nigel in October last year and have since been encouraging him to create a list of dreams he wanted to achieve, which included visiting the Theatre of Dreams to watch his favourite players in action. Community Integrated Care then got in touch with the Manchester United Foundation, who kindly offered Nigel and two of his support workers tickets for the Premier League fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Nigel was delighted to attend the game and wear his Manchester United shirt with pride, even paying a visit to the club store prior to kick-off to pick up a scarf to remember the special experience.

Nigel said:

“It was amazing to go to my first Manchester United game. Even though we didn’t get the win, I had the best day ever and loved getting to see Bruno and Marcus Rashford play live! I was over the moon when I heard I was going. I’d like to say a huge thank you to them.”
