Lifesaving children’s charity launches national SUPER summer challenge
THE Children’s Air Ambulance (TCAA) has launched a national Superhero Challenge and is encouraging people to sign up and support the charity’s lifesaving missions for critically ill babies and children across the UK.
Running until 23 July 2023, the Children’s Air Ambulance (TCAA) is asking supporters to be its heroes by taking on the challenge whilst raising money with family, friends, school, workplace, or even individually.
TCAA Community Fundraising Manager, Lynn Wood said:
“We’re really excited to launch our Superhero Challenge, not only to raise those vital funds needed to keep us flying but to also get everyone and anyone involved and having some fun.”
The charity operates a dedicated inter-hospital transfer service flying critically ill babies and children from one hospital to another for specialist care. The charity works alongside 11 NHS paediatric retrieval teams across the UK, enabling them to bring their specialist equipment onboard, or if a child is too sick to fly then the charity can fly a specialist team directly to them.
Lynn added:
“The transfers TCAA undertakes are only made possible through generous donations from fundraising initiatives such as this one. There are plenty of activities to choose from such as a Bake Sale with superhero-themed cakes and treats, a Superheroes Quiz, dressing up as your favourite superhero for the day, taking part in a super sponsored event – bike ride, swim, silence, or even super-size a challenge.”
This year the charity celebrates its 10th anniversary of lifesaving service which without public support, simply wouldn’t be here. Every donation from fundraising challenges like this goes a long way towards the £3,500 needed to keep the green helicopters flying.
