Making a Difference Locally makes charitable donations in support of UK Charity Week
FIVE good causes in the UK have benefited from a ‘Give Five £500’ donation as part of the Making a Difference Locally celebration of UK Charity week.
Nisa Retail’s independent charity has used the opportunity of UK Charity Week’s #Give5Day to recognise good causes in each of the four UK nations with Northern Ireland’s Maghera Community Cross, Scotland’s Children First, Chinese in Wales, and England’s Family Support Work all receiving donations. A cause local to Nisa’s head office in North Lincolnshire; Magic Moments for Autistic Kids was the fifth charity to benefit.
Give 5 Day presents an opportunity for people to support their favourite causes in numerous different ways.
The first three causes were chosen by colleagues at Nisa, selecting the charities from those nominated in the recent Heart of The Community Awards. Meanwhile, Family Support Work was recognised after Nisa supplied retailer Power Service Stations raised funds across their sites for a Christmas present appeal through collection tins and digital donations.
The good cause located close to Nisa HQ was selected by colleagues who voted for Magic Moments.
To further promote UK Charity Week, Making a Difference Locally will be taking part in CharityBIGBake, and doing a Big Bake Off tomorrow with funds raised also going to Magic Moments. The event will see a raffle, balloon pop and cake sale baked (or faked) by Nisa colleagues.
Claire Partridge, Marketing Manager for Power Service Stations, said:
“Supporting our local communities with the help of MADL is the best part of our job and we’re delighted Family Support Work was chosen for an additional £500 donation following our in-store fundraising.”
Helen Walker Marketing Manager for Making a Difference Locally added:
“The charities will benefit from a much-needed financial boost to help them continue their essential work in supporting those in need. The donations are so timely as we enter a winter forecast to be difficult for so many and we were delighted to celebrate UK Charity Week and reach five good causes with our ‘Give Five £500’ giveaway.”
