New CEO appointed for educational charity
A leading West Yorkshire charity tackling poverty through education has appointed a new chief executive to drive the organisation forward.
Rudolphe Solentini – who has a wealth of experience within the higher education sector – has joined Harehills Leeds-based Learning Partnerships.
In his new role, his main focus is to improve the charity’s visibility within the local community and forge new links with business leaders across the region.
Rudolphe, whose previous role was director of learning at the University of Nantes, and who has also worked at the University of Leeds, said:
“I’m delighted to have taken up this position and excited about the challenges and opportunities the role will bring.
“There’s absolutely no doubt about the excellent work the charity has done over the years. I want to build on this by using my knowledge and experience to enhance the organisation’s visibility and work with partners from business and industry who can play a key role in the success of many of our programmes and activities.”
Learning Partnerships, established in 1991, helps adults, young people, families, single parents, children and members of the BAME community people from the most deprived areas in Leeds where poverty is entrenched. Many have barriers preventing them from participating equally in society and from finding employment.
In recent months, the charity has seen an increase in participants coming onto its programmes with poor mental health. Indeed, for the Stronger Families programme, 100% of participants joining in the last year indicated they have poor mental health.
