New leadership at National Energy Action and Warm Zones CIC
New leadership at National Energy Action and Warm Zones CIC
It’s a new era for NEA and its not-for-profit subsidiary Warm Zones cic, as they welcome both a new Chief Executive and new Managing Director.
Adam Scorer joined NEA as Chief Executive in December. With a strong background in consumer policy and advocacy, including Citizens Advice, Consumer Focus, Which? and energywatch, he will lead NEA as it campaigns for everyone to be able to afford a warm, dry home.
Adam said: “The causes, and the solutions, for fuel poverty are well known. The big challenge is to generate the serious will to eradicate fuel poverty and develop the practical measures to support that ambition. I am immensely proud to be leading NEA as it works to break through with our campaigning, our projects and our support for thousands of people trying to make a difference in their local communities.”
Claire Harrold joined Warm Zones cic in February as its new Managing Director, succeeding William Gillis who will retire in March. With a passion for sustainability and extensive commercial experience working for companies such as RWE npower, Carillion and BskyB, Claire will lead Warm Zones in delivering energy efficiency and related services targeted at low income and vulnerable households.
Claire said: “It has never been more important to focus on alleviating fuel poverty in the UK and I am delighted to be joining Warm Zones at such a crucial time. I don’t under-estimate the size of the shoes I will be filling by taking over from William, after his 14 years at the helm. I hope that I am able to do his legacy justice and look forward to working with the excellent teams, both at Warm Zones and at NEA, to help ever greater numbers of vulnerable and low income households out of fuel poverty.”
