New single will support autism charity

J-Rock from MOBO award winning R&B and hip hop music group Big Brovas has announced his first ever charity single.

He is singing a reproduced version of his 2003 hit Baby Boy’ alongside 7 other artists all of whom have autism making this single totally unique and poignant.

Anna is a campaigner for autism, as well as patron of Charity Today‘s national #UKCharityWeek campaign, set up schools and colleges all over the country for autistic children and adults when there were once no provisions provided.

She has many bows to her string but her most well known one is annual show ‘Autism’s Got Talent’ which provides an opportunity for people with autism to showcase their talent and gives them a platform to go on to do many more amazing things.

The idea to reproduce Baby Boy was born after the charity launched their first album by 7 performers that Anna chose from past shows. It was launched February 20th at none other than London’s Hard Rock Cafe and received wonderful reviews.

This single is not just about the music though. Fed up with negativity surrounding autism, Anna wanted to show that these performers are not second class citizens and they want to make their mark in the world just like everyone else.

All 7 performers have had daily struggles in life, whether it be through being bullied, anxieties, mental health issues, yet here they were pushing through those struggles and engaging with each other, and having lots of fun, recording and filming.

They want to be accepted in society and Anna and the performers hope that by purchasing this single more opportunities like this can be created for lots more people with autism.

Release date ‪26th March‬ (to coincide with autism awareness week). Performed by J-Rock, and the AKO (Anna Kennedy Online) Autism songwriters group ‘Building Bridges’ – Kieron, Scott, Bradley, Calvin, Ryan, Erika and Marie. Produced by Darren Martyn (DM unsigned) and filmed by Mark Potter Can be downloaded via iTunes ‪from 26th March‬ at 99p.
