NHS Charities Together’s campaign shortlisted in legacy giving awards

NHS Charities Together has been shortlisted for Legacy Campaign of the Year and Best Start-up Legacy programme at the Smee & Ford Legacy Giving Awards 2024, which recognise and celebrate outstanding achievement and skill in the legacy sector.

NHS Charities Together’s ‘Your Forever Thank You’ campaign has been nominated for Legacy Campaign of the Year. The national, multi-channel campaign that runs across digital, TV, radio and in pharmacies aims to increase people’s understanding of NHS charities and how they can leave a gift in their Will to an NHS charity.

The campaign is unique as it brings together a network of NHS member charities. Every day, £1m is contributed to the NHS from NHS charities helping it go further and do more for patients, staff and communities, and legacy gifts play a huge part.

The nomination for the Best Start-up Legacy Programme follows the success of the charity’s Covid-19 Urgent Appeal which raised more than £162m to support the NHS. NHS Charities Together had to develop a fundraising campaign at speed due to the unprecedented nature of the pandemic. The legacy programme developed empowered our network of member charities to create their own legacy marketing campaigns, and in turn, raise vital funds for the NHS.

Jordan Miller-Hughes, Legacy Manager at NHS Charities Together said:

“We’re so proud that our legacy campaigns have been recognised by an industry-leading award. The NHS means so much to us all, reaching us at the most important moments of our lives, often when we are at our most vulnerable. Gifts in Wills enable us to work towards our ambition of making sure that the NHS is able to provide people across the UK with the best healthcare possible.”

The award entries were reviewed and assessed by a judging panel that includes some of the biggest names from across the charitable sector. To be shortlisted as a finalist for these awards, especially with tough competition from a pool of brilliant applications, is a real achievement for NHS Charities Together.

Polly Avgherinos, Managing Director, Smee & Ford:

“We extend our congratulations to NHS Charities Together for their nomination for Legacy Campaign of the Year and Best start-up legacy programme in the upcoming Smee & Ford Legacy Giving Awards. We eagerly anticipate their presence at the April ceremony, where we will come together to acknowledge and celebrate the remarkable talent, dedication, and enthusiasm of individuals contributing to the field of legacies. Their impactful work on behalf of legators, charities, and beneficiaries deserves recognition and appreciation.”

The winners will be selected following a rigorous judging stage ahead of the 2024 Smee & Ford Legacy Giving Awards ceremony. The full list of nominees can be found at: Legacygivingawards.co.uk/finalists-2024. The selected winners will be announced on 18 April 2024.
