Rebekah Vardy opens new Barnardo’s store in Leicester

BARNARDO’S Ambassador and TV star Rebekah Vardy beamed as she cut the ribbon and declared the new Barnardo’s store open.

Rebekah of ‘I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here’ fame and Leicestershire City striker Jamie Vardy are Barnardo’s first family Ambassadors. Rebekah happily chatted to staff at the new shop opening in Gallowtree Gate, Leicester, on Friday.

The shop will sell high-quality pre-loved women and men’s wear, accessories, shoes and handbags as well as children’s wear, toys, books, linens and household items. The new store will happily accept donations of the above items to sell.

All money raised in the store will be used to support vulnerable children through Barnardo’s UK-wide services.

Rebekah, who has previously donated bags of designer items to Barnardo’s with Jamie, urged shoppers to visit the new store, and “bag a bargain”.

Rebekah said:

“I’m delighted to officially open the brand new store and hope it will raise thousands of pounds for this amazing charity.

“It’s a great place to bag a bargain and you’ll be raising money for a brilliant cause at the same time.

“As a mum and Barnardo’s Family Ambassador, I’m proud to support Barnardo’s, which transforms the lives of more than 301,000 vulnerable children, young people, parents and carers across the UK.”

Barnardo’s chief executive Javed Khan added:

“We’re thrilled that Rebekah has opened our new store today.

“We are grateful for Rebekah and Jamie’s continued support as our Family Ambassadors, from making donations of designer goods to our stores to raising awareness of our charity and its services.

“We know this store, its staff, volunteers and new customers will deliver a fundraising boost to our vital services, which support hundreds of thousands of children, young people, parents and carers every year.”
