Rebekah Vardy to toddle with the Teletubbies at Dudley Zoo to raise vital charity funds

BARNARDO’S new family ambassador Rebekah Vardy, of I’m A Celebrity fame, will be putting her best foot forward at the public launch of this year’s Big Toddle at Dudley Zoo.

The Big Toddle sees thousands of under-fives, their families, nurseries and schools toddling to raise money towards Barnardo’s vital services. For the second consecutive year the Big Toddle is run in partnership with the much-loved CBeebies TV show, Teletubbies.

This year’s theme is “Nature”, with lots of opportunities for creative dressing up as animals, insects, flowers or even jungle creatures. By signing up to the Big Toddle you can access exclusive nature-themed early years learning resources.

Parents, carers and playgroups are encouraged to organise their own Toddle event, which could include holding a community Big Toddle, one for families and friends or one organised by a local nursery or primary school.

This year, there are also three public Toddles taking place; at Dudley Zoo on June 12th and 13th and at Blackpool Zoo on June 19th.

On June 12th, Rebekah will be joined by her children and one of the Teletubbies for the Toddle at Dudley Zoo.

Rebekah, who along with her husband England football star Jamie Vardy recently announced their ambassadorship with the charity, said:

“I’m really looking forward to taking my little ones to the Big Toddle at Dudley Zoo.

“We are really glad to be supporting Barnardo’s and this is a really fun way to raise some money and spend time outside with your family at the same time.”

Barnardo’s Chief Executive Javed Khan said:

“We are thrilled that Rebekah and her young family will be taking part in the first of the Big Toddle events at Dudley Zoo.

“It will be a really great day and we are looking forward to seeing lots of families getting outside and having fun while raising money towards our vital services.”

Charlotte Hill, Teletubbies’ Brand Director, added:

“We want to encourage very young children to explore and love nature just as much as the Teletubbies do – so we’re delighted to be partnering with Barnardo’s for a second year running.”
