Record amount raised by Ever After Garden in 2023 for cancer charity

A remembrance garden filled with over 25,000 illuminated white roses has raised a record amount for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.  

The Ever After Garden, which lights up Grosvenor Square in Mayfair, London, each winter, raised over £418,000 in 2023, making it the garden’s most successful year to date. The Ever After Garden has now raised over £870,000 since it was created in 2019.  

The stunning installation offers a space to pause and reflect over the festive period. For a fourth year, visitors were invited to dedicate a rose to a treasured loved one and to make a donation to The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, which supports the work of The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, a world-leading cancer centre.   

The 2023 garden was launched on 15 November with an event attended by actor Bill Nighy, who cut the ribbon to officially open the garden to visitors.  

The garden was inspired by the late Production Designer and Art Director Michael Howells, whose work included the film Ever After, after which the garden is named, and ITV’s Victoria. His friends, Fashion Designer and Trustee of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity Anya Hindmarch CBE and Fashion Writer Camilla Morton created the Ever After Garden as a welcoming haven to remember those we have lost.

“I am absolutely delighted that the Ever After Garden has surpassed three-quarters of a million pounds raised for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. Since it began, the garden has been a place where people can come together and remember those no longer with us, and it is wonderful that it continues to offer comfort and hope to those who visit while supporting people with cancer and their families.”
