Rhythmix are top of the charts after awards success!

A charity set up to provide opportunities for music making to people in challenging circumstances has scooped a prestigious national award.

Rhythmix a charity who primarily serve the East Sussex county made the finals of the Charity Today Awards’ Disability Charity of the Year, and they have since gone on to win the public vote against many other leading disability charities from around the country.

Speaking following the presentation of their award, Rhythmix Deputy Chair Jane Humberstone said: “Winning such a prestigious award marks an important milestone for our growing charity. In acknowledging the dedication and hard work of our tutors it also recognises the transformational power of music in changing lives.”

Charity Today Executive Editor, Lee Rayment, who is also the founder of the national charity campaign #UKCharityWeek said: “We are delighted to award Rhythmix with the Disability Charity of the Year! It goes to show that hard-work really does pay-off.

“We congratulate them and of course The Family Fund for reaching the finals.”

The Charity Today Awards is a national charity awards programme that celebrates charities and individuals across the UK who go that extra mile for others.

Each month a category is put up live onTwitter @CharityAwards for the public to nominate, the judges then select the two finalists before putting them to the public vote.
