Richard Lane to join StepChange Debt Charity
Richard Lane, currently Head of Communications at the UK’s leading disability charity, Scope, is to join StepChange Debt Charity as Director of External Affairs on 25 June, after a rigorous search process following the departure of Francis McGee in December 2017.
The new post has been recast to bring together overall responsibility for a broad remit of communications, marketing and policy functions, against the backdrop of a wide-ranging change management programme currently under way within the charity designed to deliver more help to more people more efficiently.
Phil Andrew, CEO of StepChange Debt Charity, told Charity Today:
“I am delighted to welcome Richard to the senior leadership team at a time of significant growth and opportunity. He brings all the right credentials to help us deliver and communicate the various improvements we are working on across a range of fronts for people experiencing debt problems.”
Richard Lane added:
“I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining StepChange Debt Charity. I’ve been hugely impressed with the ambition and energy of the whole leadership team. It’s clearly a great time to join as the organisation undergoes such an exciting period of change. I can’t wait to get stuck in to supporting the team to reach more people and influence change to prevent and reduce the harm caused by problem debt.”
