Smile Train UK’s annual carol concert returns this UK Charity Week

Smile Train UK’s annual carol concert returns this UK Charity Week

THE world’s largest cleft charity, Smile Train, is excited to announce that after two years of virtual carol singing, it will be returning to an in-person event to kickstart the festive season – and everyone is invited!

On Thursday 8th December at 7pm, Smile Train will be hosting ‘The Big Smile Carol Concert’ at The Grosvenor Chapel in Mayfair, London, as seen in the classic Christmas film, Love Actually.

The concert will feature festive performances from the Choir of Grosvenor Chapel for guests to sing along to, and seasonal messages from the Smile Train UK team, including Smile Train UK Director, Ian Vallance.

Along with the carols, there will also be special virtual performances by Smile Train children’s choirs from around the world. Smile Train Choirs form part of our speech therapy aftercare programme but have grown into so much more. Our Choirs provide a place where cleft-affected children thrive and are given the confidence to use their voices and speak up. When a child who once struggled to speak is empowered to sing in public, they soon come to believe they can achieve anything. Smile Train Choirs from Columbia and Argentina will be singing their hearts out for ‘The Big Smile Carol Concert’.

But wait, there’s myrrh! Refreshments – including mulled wine and mince pies – will be available for guests to enjoy.

The concert is free to attend, but any donations generously given on the night will allow Smile Train to continue providing free cleft surgery and comprehensive cleft care to children born with cleft globally – and help them to continue to change the world one smile at a time.

Roanne Moore, Carol Concert Curator and Development Manager at Smile Train UK said:

“We are so incredibly excited to be returning to an in-person carol concert at The Grosvenor Chapel, after two years of virtual celebrations.

“Nothing kicks off the festive season quite like Smile Train’s annual carol concert, so we can’t wait to welcome you all back for an evening filled with Christmas cheer, carols, mince pies, mulled wine, and most importantly plenty of smiles!”

The Big Smile Carol Concert will be taking place on 8th December 2022, 7pm – 9pm.
