Social care charity enjoy VIP Paralympic British Cycling Experience
PEOPLE supported by social care charity Community Integrated Care received a special VIP invitation from British Cycling to watch the final session of the ParalympicsGB athletes before they head to the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
Live from the Manchester Velodrome, eight people from the charity enjoyed exclusive access to watch British Cycling’s finest in their latter stages of preparation.
The honour bestowed by British Cycling to Community Integrated Care was intended as a celebration of the charity’s positive work in both local Manchester communities and nationally, for their projects that are changing the lives of people with learning disabilities and autism through sport.
Stockport resident Tony, who the charity supports, spoke about his excitement at watching the action from the stands, saying:
“I never dreamt I would be this close to the athletes. It was brilliant to watch the cycling and see all the Paralympic stars. Being part of these programmes has really changed my life. I can’t wait to cheer them on later this month.”
Samantha Brennan, Managing Director of Community Integrated Care said:
“For British Cycling to both recognise and reward the work of our charity in sport and of the people we support from Manchester with this incredible experience is truly incredible.
“Everyone has been excitedly anticipating seeing the athletes in action, but nothing compares to when you experience cycling live from the Velodrome – a special experience for the people we support to make memories that last a lifetime.
We’re so thankful to the British Cycling team and give our best wishes to the squad heading out to Paris.”
