Social care charity recognised for excellence in Learning and Development
NATIONAL social care charity, Community Integrated Care, is celebrating its newly launched Learning and Development programme for frontline colleagues after being shortlisted for a prestigious CIPD People Management Award (CIPDPMAs).
The CIPDPMAs recognise excellence in Human Resources, Learning & Development and Organisational Development, and celebrate the impact that the people profession has on organisations.
As one of the UK’s largest and most established care providers, Community Integrated Care supports more than 2,500 people who have learning disabilities, autism, complex care needs and mental health conditions across England and Scotland.
Launched to colleagues in April this year, the charity’s new learning programme, ‘GROW’, has been named amongst the CIPDPMAs shortlist for the highly esteemed Best L&D Initiative in the Public/Third Sector accolade.
Created in-house by the charity’s Learning & Development team, GROW has been specifically designed to support frontline colleagues to feel fully equipped to deliver the best care possible in their roles and to empower the people they support to live rich, fulfilling lives.
Combining bitesize learning, virtual sessions, in-person workshops, practical exercises, mentoring and more, the programme provides a holistic and person-centred approach to learning and development, reflective of the extensive skills required by Support Workers.
Since GROW’s launch, over 5,000 colleagues have taken part in the learning, with over 200,000 pieces of learning having been completed – a record response for the charity.
Deborah Betts, Head of Capability Development at Community Integrated Care, said:
“We’re incredibly proud to see GROW shortlisted for a CIPDPMAs. The awards recognise the very best across a multitude of sectors and there are some big names shortlisted, so it is amazing to be amongst the finalists.
“When creating GROW, we were passionate about recognising the many skills required by Support Workers to deliver person-centred support and wanted to create a learner journey that would reflect this. This nomination is a testament to everyone who contributed to the creation of GROW, and especially our Learning and Development team, who have revolutionised the way we deliver learning, with fantastic results.”
Community Integrated Care employs 5,000 colleagues nationally. To find out more about the charity’s vacancies, and what it’s like to work for Community Integrated Care, please visit: www.workincare.co.uk.
