Teenage Cancer Trust announces new Director of Fundraising
TEENAGE Cancer Trust has appointed Liz Tait as its new Director of Fundraising.
Liz joins from Battersea Dogs & Cats Home where she was Director of Fundraising for almost eight years overseeing public fundraising, major donors, corporates, trusts, legacy marketing, community fundraising and events. Under Liz’s leadership, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home grew income from £10m in 2010 to nearly £40m today through developing a successful public fundraising programme and events such as the gala ball Collars & Coats and mass participation event the Muddy Dog Challenge.
Liz’s previous positions include Head of Direct Marketing at the British Red Cross and roles at Sense and Plan UK. Until recently, Liz was a long serving Trustee at Action on Hearing Loss having served two terms where she supported the development of their fundraising strategy.
Liz is a trustee of the Institute of Fundraising and currently chairs their Standards Advisory Board, which looks to develop professional standards across the sector. She also chaired the IOF’s Fundraising Convention Board and previously sat on their Learning and Development Committee.
In response to her new appointment, Liz Tait said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Teenage Cancer Trust at a very exciting time. I greatly admire their amazing work supporting young people with cancer and their families. I am committed to doing all I can to help increase their impact and look forward to working with their fantastic Fundraising team.”

Liz takes up the role from Kate Collins who moved from Director of Fundraising and Marketing at Teenage Cancer Trust to the position of Chief Executive earlier this year.
