THE recent West Smethwick Park 5K Walk and 10K Run event was a resounding success, raising an impressive £2013 in support of Arrive Alive, the charity partner of The Friends of West Smethwick Park.
The event drew participants from far and wide, showcasing a strong sense of community engagement and support.
Debbie Roscoe, Founder of Arrive Alive said:
“On behalf of the Arrive Alive team, I would like to say a massive thank you to Bernard, Thomas, Kelli, Carrie and the Friends of West Smethwick Park committee for their incredible support. The event has grown in size from its first event in 2023, and the fundraising target has been smashed. I am astounded at the number of people who showed up to support the event and support Arrive Alive. I cannot thank all of the participants of the 2024 event enough, I look forward to the 2025 5k walk and 10k run.”
Arrive Alive is the only registered charity of its kind dedicated to funding voluntarily operated 999 vehicles and lifesaving equipment for medically trained volunteers, and plays a crucial role in providing community response to medical emergencies within the community.
The volunteers are trained by the ambulance service as Community First Responders and exemplify dedication and commitment to ensuring the well-being of individuals in need. This event not only raised funds but also highlighted the importance of community collaboration and support for initiatives that prioritise emergency medical response and care.
